Homestead Credit for Senior & Disabled Citizens

NDCC § 57-02-08.1

"If you are 65 years of age or older or if you are permanently and totally disabled on a limited income, the City of West Fargo participates in the Homestead Credit program to help you with payment of your taxes. Qualified homeowners may receive a credit to reduce their property taxes on their home."

Below is the information you need to apply for this program.  If you would like our office to assist you in filling out your application, call us at (701) 515-5300 to make an appointment. You will need to bring the following information to that appointment:


  • Documentation proving your income for the year prior to the one  for which you are applying.  This includes W-2’s, 1099’s, social security statements, etc.  A good rule of thumb is anything you would use to fill out a 1040 should be brought with you.
  • Documentation proving your out of pocket medical expenses for the year prior to the one for which you are applying. This includes medical bills, dental bills, pharmacy bills, medical insurance premium invoices, supplemental medical insurance premium invoices, invoices for medical accessories such as dentures, glasses, walkers, etc.

If you are under 65 years of age and applying for the Disabled Credit, you will also need to bring the completed Physician’s certificate.
