The Assessor is tasked with the fair and equitable assessment of all property within city limits for property tax purposes, per the North Dakota State Tax Department. It is also this department’s responsibility to compile records regarding real estate transactions, new construction, remodels or alterations, as well as administer a variety of property tax exemption and credit programs instituted by the North Dakota State Legislature.
Please Note: The Assessor is not responsible for special assessments or establishing the property tax rate. Special assessments and property tax rates are a function of Finance. The Assessor is also not responsible for the Neighborhood Revitalization Program Low Interest Home Loan Program. Please visit the program’s page for information.
